Who are we?

Charles E. and Mary F. Bowyer

at the Kiski Junction Railroad

Welcome to our home away from home page.

Charlie is living his dream !

Not only operating a locomotive but the entire railroad on site as Chief of Operations for the Kiski Junction Railroad. We haul freight for Allegheny Ludlum Bagdad Plant year round.  Schenley is a beautiful little spot with a population of 72+2 (that's us). We are located at the confluence of the Kiski and Allegheny Rivers in Armstrong County, Southwest Pennsylvania. These beautiful rivers draw thousands all summer . Our local population swells with over 200 campsites and a local yacht club. Lock 5 , located directly across  the Allegheny River from us  has heavy barge traffic  and does slow the  pleasure boats going North, many to Kittanning's Riverfront Park. But here it's fish, swim, ski, and party. It's like operating  through a resort. Although our home is  in East Palestine, Ohio we work out of our renovated caboose on site. Since 1996 we have just been one of the family. Actually all the people  here who spend their summers  living in boats and campers don't think  the two of us living in a caboose is all that strange, thank goodness.
