Scenic Tour Rides

Passenger train ride tours run from June thru October (and special runs during events in December). Closed November to June; Sundays, Mondays and Holidays (except for Independence Day, July 4.)

Length of the passenger round trip ride usually lasts about 1 hour.

Tour Rides occur on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The train leaves the station precisely at 2:00pm.

Please leave enough time in your travel schedule to get to our train station 30 minutes prior to our departure time. Seating is on a first-come first-served basis.

Seniors (62 +) $8.00
Children (4 - 13 years) $7.00
Children (3 and under) FREE

  • Parking is FREE

  • Reservations are REQUIRED during October and for ALL HOLIDAY TRAINS.  At all other times, trains operate on a STRICTLY first-come-first-served basis.  Please, only call to make reservations if you are bringing a large group.

  • Groups can book a special run; see our FAQ page or contact us for more details.

  • You are welcome to bring your own food; most train cars have tables.

  • We do not have restrooms on the trains; There are portable facilities at the train station.

  • If the temperature is forecasted to be above 95 degrees, we will not run passenger excursions that day.

  • Take a scenic ride along the beautiful Allegheny River, from Schenley to Johnetta.  On certain days, due to various factors, we may use the original line along the Kiski River from Schenley to Bagdad.  The KJR reserves the right to use either line on any given day without notification of change to passengers.

  • Unique, fun, safe and affordable, with clean, comfortable cars.
